NIXON, LIGHT & BUZBEE is a boutique law firm with experience representing clients ranging from individuals to large corporations. Our size allows us flexibility and speed in meeting our clients' goals and providing personalized representation. Our attorneys are capable of handling all types of civil litigation across the state of Arkansas with a focus in commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditor's rights, replevins, collections and domestic relations. NIXON, LIGHT & BUZBEE was formed in 2000 by attorneys W. Robert Nixon, Jr. and Louis “Whit” Light. Together they have over fifty years of commercial practice experience. The Firm added attorney, John B. Buzbee, in March of 2008 and he was added as a full partner in 2017. The firm was subsequently re-incorporated as NIXON, LIGHT & BUZBEE. All attorneys are licensed to practice in all Arkansas Circuit Court’s as well as Federal Court for the Eastern and Western District’s of Arkansas. The firm is staffed with experienced and long-term employees at the paralegal and legal assistant positions.

Louis "Whit" Light
Managing Member
Louis “Whit” Light has approximately 25 years of general private practice experience with emphasis on commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and collections. During law school, he was a legislative aide to Senator David Pryor in Washington, D.C. After graduating from law school, he served a one-year judicial clerkship with the late Judge J. Smith Henley on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit, St. Louis, Missouri.

John B. Buzbee
Managing Member
John Buzbee received his J.D. in 2007 from the University of Arkansas - William H. Bowen School of Law. John has represented the Firm's clients in litigation across the state of Arkansas and has handled complex litigation cases in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, contract, landlord-tenant and divorce proceedings among others.
Additionally, John has presented at the annual Debtor-Creditor Bar Meeting on the representation of automobile finance companies in bankruptcy matters. John has an unblemished appellate record and has been selected as a Mid-South Super Lawyers "Rising Star" for 2017 - 2020 and a Mid-South Super Lawyer in 2022 - 2023
